The Leisure Village boasts a Leisure Centre includes a swimming pool, steam room, gymnasium, fitness studio and beauty therapy rooms (additional charges apply). The gymnasium has been newly extended and upgraded for the 2008 season. For anyone one who wants to pre book temporary membership to the Leisure Centre we have negotiated a discounted rate - please enquire.

The Waters Edge bar and restaurant on the Leisure Village serves excellent food which can be recommended and Claudio extends a warm welcome to all. The restaurant leads onto the outside terrace area which overlooks the lake and beach area.and is ideal for relaxing on a warm day with a glass of wine and watching the swans, ducks and geese bobbing about on the lake whilst the children play on the beach

You can enjoy windsurfing sailing or kayaking on the lake using your own craft - non motorised activities only. Fishing is available on the lake and in the local area. You are on the doorstep of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and only a few miles away from Silverdale and Arnside which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Within the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales the opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, golf, climbing, paintballing, go karting bird watching are limitless.

There are folders available in the Lodge containing details of attractions within the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

The local area is characterised by its limestone crags and pavements, woodlands and wetlands. In particular the RSPB reserve at nearby Leighton Moss is a mecca for bird watchers and is nationally renowned, as is Morecambe Bay.

Recognised local beauty spots include Fairy Steps, Wharton Crag, Arnside Knott and Farleton Fell. These are all popular places for walks and picnics.

Other local attractions include The British Waterways Fishery at Borwick, Leighton Hall, the newly restored Carnforth Railway Station of 'Brief Encounter' fame and several golf courses which welcome visitors. For small children Docker Park Farm is ideal along with the Butterfly House at Williamson Park, Lancaster. Older children might like the experience of 'Go Ape' within the beautiful Grizedale Forest.

For those of us who can't bear to be away from the shops Kendal is nearby as are Morecambe and Lancaster for bigger purchases.
